Un drame courageux et urbain d'un jeune homme désireux qui veux se libérer du cercle vicieux de la violence, qu'il a été en pour la plupart de sa vie. Ronald est né d'un père Québécois et d'une mère Haïtienne. Quand il était un enfant, Ronald a été témoin de son père qui battant sa mère à mort avec un marteau. Son père est emprisonné. Cela lui cicatrices pour la vie. Il va d'une famille d'accueil à un autre. Ronald a besoin de sentir qu’il appartient, donc il est très sensible à être influencé. Ceci l'amène à se plier à la volonté d'un chef de gang violent et dominant surnommé « Brooklyn » à qui il lui surnomme ‘Jecko’.
Les années passent et Ronald est réveillé par deux événements importants. La première est que Ronald est conscient qu'il doit s'occuper de sa femme et sa fille et le second est que son père va sortir de prison. Il a besoin de saisir le volant de son propre destin et de quitter sa vie de gangster.
Cette drame urbain dépeint habilement un portrait de gangs de rue qui évite sagement, de exploite et glorifier l'effusion de sang inhérente à ce mode de vie.
A gritty urban drama about a young man who desires to break free from the vicious cycle of violence he has been in for most of his life. Ronald was born of a Quebecois father and a Haitian mother. As a child, Ronald witnesses his father beating his mother to death with a hammer. His father is imprisoned. This scars him for life. He is tossed from one foster home to another. Ronald needs to feel that he belongs; therefore he is highly susceptible to being influenced. This leads him to bend to the will of a violent and dominating gang leader named ‘Brooklyn’ who nicknames him ‘Jecko’.
Years pass and Ronald is stirred by two significant events. The first is that Ronald is realizing that he needs to take care of his wife and daughter and the second is that his father is being released from prison. He needs to grab hold of the ‘steering wheel’ of his own destiny and leave his gangster-life.
This urban drama is a deftly portrayed portrait of street gangs that wisely avoids exploiting and glorifying the bloodshed inherent in this way of life.
