Domingo is an indigenous Mexican farmer who lives with drought, both from the land and within himself. Stricken with grief, he tries to relieve his drought through drink until his last ditch effort of sacrificing his last goat in an attempt to reconcile with his ancestral deities.

Domingo est un fermier Mexicain Indigène qui
vit avec la sécheresse, tant de la terre et à l'intérieur de lui-même. Dévasté
par le chagrin, il tente de soulager sa sécheresse par le biais de boire
jusqu'à ce que son dernier effort de sacrifier sa dernière chèvre dans une
tentative de réconciliation avec ses divinités ancestrales de fossé.

Comme de nombreux d’autres immigrants Chinois, Zhang,
sa femme et leur fils unique trouvent la sécurité en étant propriétaire d'un dépanneur.
Lorsque les
symptômes d'un lymphome que Zhang avait déjà souffert pendant ses études pour
devenir ingénieur à une université en Chine, se reproduire, son sécurité et sa
détermination de la maintenir, est menacée.

Un drame qui examine les questions du rôle de l'Église
dans la société moderne et sa responsabilité de fournir abri et refuge à ceux
qui en ont besoin. Un prêtre doit trouver un remède immédiat face à un
immigrante illégal et son fils qui, sur le point de perdre leur seul refuge tandis
que l'église est sur le point d'être vendu pour le réaménagement.
