“Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit”

gritty and real

Don’t be fooled by his winsome smile and boyish looks. Jack Ryan (Chris Pine) suffers a terrible injury in a helicopter crash during the war in Afghanistan where his heroic instincts go into full throttle. Back in the United States in rehab – where he must learn to walk again – he meets Cathy, his personal doctor. Years later, they are living together. Jack is recruited by a CIA agent (Kevin Costner) to tap into the Russian power broker (Kenneth Branagh) who plans to blow up the world and crash the stock-market.

Suspense, action and sophisticated plot developments make this thriller film – based on Tom Clancy’s great book – a highly successful cross-over onto the silver screen. From Wall Street to Moscow, the movie has it all, proving that director, Kenneth Branagh is as brilliant behind the camera as he is in front of it.
