Wally Winthrop is obsessed with the relationship between King Edward VIII and American commoner and divorcee Wallis Simpson. To her it was the perfect romance. In 1998, she attended Sotheby`s auctioning of the Windsor estate. She decided to research the relationship and quickly discovered that it had many flaws as with that with her husband, an award winning yet abusive husband. The interwoven stories unfold as the film shifts back and forth between 1998 and 1936. Strongly shows how the fairy tale conceptualization surrounding romance is often the major reason that many relationships fail often with serious consequences.

Wally Winthrop est obsédé par la relation entre le roi Édouard VIII et la roturière Américaine, Wallis Simpson, une divorcée. Pour elle, c'était un amour parfait. En 1998, elle a participé à la mise aux enchères de Sotheby's de la succession de Windsor. Elle a décidé de faire de la recherche sur la relation et a rapidement découvert qu'il avait de nombreux défauts comme ceux avec son mari, primé mais abusif. Les histoires entremêlées se déroulent comme le film ce déplace d`avant en arrière entre 1998 et 1936. Montre fortement comment la  conceptualisation de conte de fée qui entoure le romantisme est souvent  la raison principale que de nombreuses relations échouent souvent avec des conséquences graves.

Madonna’s debut feature film as a director is a vulgar comedy, in a style similar to Borat, which examines good and evil. A.K. shares a London flat with Holly and Juliette. A.K. dreams of being a pop star but he needs to face reality. His job is an odd one – humiliating masochistic clients. He is in love with Holly. Holly would rather be dancing for a ballet company than in a strip club. Juliette works for a sadistic pharmacist as she waits to go to Africa to help the needy children. The film is lots of fun.

Premier long métrage Madonna comme réalisateur est une comédie vulgaire, dans un style similaire à Borat, qui examine le bien et le mal. A.K. partage un logement à Londres avec Holly et Juliette. A.K. rêve d'être une pop star, mais il doit affronter la réalité. Son bulot est bizarre – en humiliant des clients masochistes. Il est amoureux de holly. Holly danserait plutôt pour une compagnie de ballet que dans un club de danseuses. Juliette travaille pour un pharmacien sadique pendant qu'elle attend pour aller en Afrique pour aider les enfants nécessiteuses. Le film est très amusant.

Man on a Ledge / Le Temps d'un Vol by / par Asger Leth

A man (Sam Worthington) checks into a high-rise Midtown Manhattan hotel, the Roosevelt. In his room he orders a champagne breakfast. After he finishes, he climbs out on the ledge of his 21st floor hotel room. A woman on the street below screams, the authorities are alerted and arrive on the scene.  Dante Marcus (Titus Welliver) controls the crowd below and Jack Dougherty (Edward Burns) tries to talk to ‘the man on a ledge’. The man tells him he wants Lydia Mercer (Elizabeth Banks), a police psychiatrist who attempts to dissuade those contemplating suicide, to be there in 30 minutes or he jumps. She is currently on leave as her last attempt, two weeks before, failed. The victim, a policeman, jumped off the bridge. As it turns out the ‘man on the ledge’ is a former policeman, Nick Cassidy. He had been convicted of stealing a 40 million dollar diamond owned by businessman David Englander (Ed Harris). Englander always employed policemen to protect his jewellery business
A week earlier, Nick had been granted a supervised leave in order to attend the funeral of his father. His ex-partner, Mike Ackerman (Anthony Mackie), was among one of the cops supervising Nick. During a melee, Nick escapes and is now on the ledge of the 21^st floor of the Roosevelt Hotel using as an alias, Walker. But why is he really there? While he is threatening to jump, his brother Joey (Jamie Bell) and his girlfriend Angie (Genesis Rodriguez) are attempting to break-into the nearby headquarters of Englander’s company. They plan to steal the diamond thus proving that Nick is actually innocent and had been framed and by whom.
Though an entertaining and enjoyable thriller, this film is not destined to become a classic as in many of Hitchcock’s. The mystery and suspense could have been tighter and the ‘questions’ kept unanswered longer. The performances were passable but not outstanding.

Une femme dans la rue ci-dessous cris, les autorités sont alertées et arrivent sur la scène.  Dante Marcus (Titus Welliver) contrôle la foule ci-dessous et Jack Dougherty (Edward Burns) essaie de parler à «l'homme sur la rebord». L'homme lui dit qu'il veut Lydia Mercer (Elizabeth Banks), un psychiatre de la police qui tente de dissuader ceux qui envisagent de se suicider, à être là dans 30 minutes ou il saute. Comme il s'avère que l'homme sur le rebord est un ancien policier, Nick Cassidy. Il avait été déclaré coupable d'avoir volé un diamant d’une valeur de 40 millions de dollars qui appartenait à David Englander (Ed Harris), un l'homme d'affaires. Englander a toujours employé des policiers pour protéger son joaillerie.  
Une semaine plus tôt, Nick avait été accordé un congé surveilée pour assister aux funérailles de son père. Son ancien partenaire, Mike Ackerman (Anthony Mackie), était parmi un des policiers qui supervisait Nick. Au cours d'une mêlée, Nick s'échappe et est maintenant sur le rebord du 21^e étage de l'Hôtel Roosevelt est utilise comme un alias, Walker. Mais pourquoi est-il vraiment là? Alors qu'il menace de sauter du rebord, son frère Joey (Jamie Bell) et sa petite amie Angie (Genesis Rodriguez) tentent de cambrioler dans le siège-social de la compagnie de Englander, à proximité à proximité de hôtel. Ils prévoient de voler le diamant pour prouver que Nick est réellement innocent et qu'il a été encadré et par qui.
Malgré d’être un thriller divertissant et agréable, ce film n'est pas destiné à devenir un classique comme dans bon nombre de ceux de Hitchcock. Le mystère et le suspense aurait pu être plus serre, et «les questions» gardé plus long sans réponse. Les performances ont été passables mais pas exceptionnel.
