"Paranoia" is a film flop, directed by Robert Luketic

You would think that any movie that stars Liam Hemsworth, Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford would be one to run to and see, but not so with this zero-level entertainment film. It is so flat that the plot that should have been a suspenseful film grabber just fizzles into nothingness.

In a nutshell the story’s hard drive is as follows: Adam Cassidy (Hemsworth), an ambitious tech telecommunications wizard whose career is going nowhere is given a great offer by Wyatt Telecom, the company he works for. It is headed by nasty CEO, Nicolas Wyatt, who several years ago was the brains behind another company called Trion Systems. This company is now the biggest competitor for Wyatt Telecom, and Nicolas is determined to get into their top secrets and steal them. For this, he gets Cassidy to do the dirty work; the young protégé gets hired by Trion and things seem to be working to favour Wyatt’s way, but it all goes up into cyberspace chaos when Cassidy and his spying gets caught  as he seemingly tries to help both companies pursue their dreams. The ending has a twist that seemingly puts Trion at the top of the game, until both companies are downed for good, and Cassidy ends up starting his own company. The only good guy in the film is the FBI and Cassidy’s dad – played by an ageing Richard Dreyfuss (from Jaws film fame) who should have sent the shark to eat up this film before it got to the screen.

This year’s festival (15th edition from February 20 to March 2, 2014) is bringing on some heavy-weight local chefs for some heavenly cuisine. The Festival’s advisory committee chef in command, Jean-Pierre Curtat from the Casino de Montréal has made Montreal, the shiniest star attraction.

As they cook up their meals in over 48 restaurants and venues, expect to be accompanied to the music of famous artists and media personalities.  Luminaries in the food biz during the series of Amitiés gourmande Air France, Montreal-San Francisco ( the featured American City) and the amazing Coup de chapeau a Haïti (Hats off to Haiti) will also feel enriched knowing that seven more savoury events are planned so that the galaxy of top chefs can share their fare with all of Montreal.

Haiti’s Stephan Berrouet Durand, chef of the Plaza Hôtel in Port-au-Prince and ambassador of Haitian cuisine has created a 3-course Haitian-style menu and as you dine, expect to be treated to the stunning sounds of. Haitian troubadours: Saturday March 1 at 6:30 at Marché Bonsecours.  This affair is just one of the exciting events that also put the table spotlight on bread, cheeses, Louisiana and more.

There are also all kinds of overnight packages for out-of-towners and locals too wanting to taste the very finest this extraordinary food-extravaganza-side of the Festival serves up in the chicest and earthiest of ways. Of course lots of the finest winery wines will be served.
