2079, the United States has put an experimental maximum security prison, MS One, in orbit around the Earth. Five hundred inmates who are deemed to be extremely dangerous have been incarcerated there. All of them are being kept in an artificial sleep.

To investigate claims that this ‘artificial sleep’ can cause psychotic behaviour and dementia, the daughter of the President of the United States, Emily Warnock (Maggie Grace), boards the station. One of the inmates, Hydell (creepily played by Joseph Gilgun) is awakened to be interviewed. When Hydell steals the gun from Emily’s body guard Hock (Jacky Ido), things quickly get out of control. Hydell escapes and awakens all of the other prisoners including his brother Alex (Vincent Regan) who is more down-to-earth. Emily is taken hostage.
Meanwhile CIA Agent Snow (Guy Pierce) has been falsely accused due to altered footage of him killing fellow agent Frank Armstrong, who was investigating a mole selling government secrets. He has also been charged with espionage. While Secret Service director Scott Langral (Peter Stormare) is beating him to a pulp trying to get a confession, Snow responds with an insouciant wisecrack. When news of the occurrences reach the Secret Service they decide to send Snow to MS One with the sole mission of rescuing the president’s daughter Emily Warnock and only her. In return, Snow is offered a pardon from his thirty-year sentence.
A fun and entertaining science fiction film that should be taken as just that, i.e. there is no deep meaning or message.

Les États-Unis ont mis une prison expérimentale à sécurité maximale, MS One, en orbite autour de la terre. Cinq cents détenus, qui sont réputés pour être extrêmement dangereux présent a été incarcéré. Tous d'entre eux sont maintenus dans un sommeil artificiel. 

Afin d'étudier les revendications que ce «sommeil artificiel» peut causer la démence et des comportements psychotiques, la fille du président des États-Unis, Emily Warnock (Maggie Grace), monte dans la station. L'un des détenus, Hydell (joué en donnent une chair de poule par Joseph Gilgun) est réveillé pour être interrogés. Lorsque Hydell vole le revolver du garde du corps d'Emily Hock (Jacky Ido), les choses deviennent rapidement incontrôlables. Hydell s'échappe et se réveille tous les autres prisonniers, y compris son frère Alex (Vincent Regan) qui est plus pragmatique. Emily est prise en otage.
Pendant ce temps, Snow (Guy Pierce) un agent du CIA, a été accusé a tort en raison d'images modifiées de l’avoir tuer son agent collègue Frank Armstrong, qui enquêtait sur une taupe qui vendait des secrets du gouvernement. Il est également accusé d'espionnage. Alors que le directeur Scott Langral (Peter Stormare) des services secrets, le battre à une pulpe  en essayent d'obtenir une confession, Snow répond avec un vanne insouciant. Quand les nouvelles des événements atteignent le Secret Service, ils décident de envoyer Snow à MS One avec la seule mission de sauver la fille du président Emily Warnock et elle seulement. En retour, Snow est offert le pardon de ses trente ans de prison.
Un film amusant et divertissant de science fiction qui devrait être prise comme justement ca, c'est-à-dire il n'y aucune signification ou message profonde.

Special Agent Darris Cain is interrogating inmate Ellis on Level One of a military state prison. Surveillance tapes had shown that Ellis had met with an elusive fugitive that Cain has been seeking to apprehend for a long time. The film has been acclaimed due to its masterful use of green screen technology and   computer graphics.   

Darris Cain, agent spécial, interroge le détenu Ellis au Niveau Un d’une prison militaire de l’état. Des bandes de surveillance montrée qu’Ellis avait rencontré un fugitif insaisissable que Cain cherche a appréhendai depuis longtemps. Le film a été acclamé en raison de son utilisation magistrale d`une technologie d`écran vert et infographie.
