Hello friends:

 Some of you know I gave a reading in San Miguel de Allende of my short story "The Powder Case " after which the audience was invited into groups to give their interpretation of the ending. In addition I read the poem, "Our Vets Have Been Voided" along with more of my short poems. It was very engaging to receive such participation from those who gave up their time to attend the reading in the  stunning mural adorned Biblioteca which houses Mexico's second largest English library book collection.

 San Miguel is a mecca for artists of all kinds. I was most fortunate to be invited to read from  some of my works, write a piece or two for their newspaper, and play on the library's great piano. It was lovely to be able to sing my song "Los Campesinos"    to a mixed audience of North Americans and Mexicans.

  Closer to home - right here in Montreal, I will be reading "The Powder Case", on  radio 102.3 FM on Arts Notebook this Saturday at 11:30 am.  

You are invited to phone in your opinion of the story's ending and comment on what you hear.

It was so enlightening to hear how divergent the interpretations were, and yet I had written this story with one single ending which was clear in my mind. It was fun for us all to hear just how different we all see the worlds, and in this case, hear it, as well.
